A woman advocate and executive member of the Tis Hazari Bar Association has approached the Supreme Court, alleging that she was sexually assaulted, beaten, and illegally detained by Gurugram police officials when she accompanied a client to the Sector 50 police station in connection with a matrimonial matter.

The Supreme Court bench of Justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and AG Masih heard the matter today and directed the petitioner’s counsel to obtain a copy of the FIR lodged against her by the Gurugram police officials. The counsel informed the Court that despite requesting the FIR, it had not been provided by the Investigating Officer. The bench suggested filing a formal application with the concerned Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) to obtain the FIR.

The petitioner seeks the transfer of cases lodged by and against her to an independent agency, such as the CBI or Delhi Police, and demands disciplinary action against the Gurugram police officials involved in her alleged illegal detention and manhandling.
