​As of April 12, 2025, there are no official reports confirming that Tahawwur Rana has been placed on suicide watch at the National Investigation Agency (NIA) headquarters in Delhi.​
Rana, a key accused in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, was extradited from the United States and arrived in Delhi on April 10, 2025. Upon arrival, he was taken into custody by the NIA and is being held in a high-security facility. Security measures include 24/7 CCTV surveillance, an in-cell toilet and bathroom, and restricted access to his cell. These precautions are standard for high-risk detainees and are not indicative of suicide watch protocols.
The NIA is currently interrogating Rana regarding his alleged involvement in the 26/11 attacks, his connections with Lashkar-e-Taiba, and his links to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
