PAT 2025 Paper Leak: SCERT Confirms Criminal Cases Filed

The Marathi question paper for the Class 9 Performance Assessment Test (PAT) was leaked online on Monday, April 7, 2025. Teachers and students also reported that Hindi and Mathematics papers were accessible, affecting both Class 9 and Class 4 assessments. The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) director has confirmed that criminal cases have been lodged in response to these leaks.

PAT is a statewide assessment conducted by SCERT for government and aided schools across Maharashtra. It aims to measure educational progress and is part of the central Strengthening Teaching-Learning and Results for States project, funded by the World Bank. The project is implemented in Maharashtra and five other states to enhance the quality and governance of school education.

The SCERT director emphasized that the leaks compromise the integrity of the assessment process and assured that strict actions are being taken to identify and prosecute those responsible. Authorities are investigating the source of the leaks to prevent future occurrences and maintain the credibility of the examination system.
