Out on bail , man held once again for selling newborns.

As of April 7, 2025, there are no recent news reports indicating that an individual previously released on bail has been re-arrested for selling newborns in India. However, there have been several incidents in the past year involving the illegal sale of infants:

  • Mumbai, December 2024: A 32-year-old mother sold her three-month-old baby for ₹1 lakh to fund her husband’s bail. The Matunga police arrested nine individuals connected to this case.
  • Nagpur, August 2024: A couple sold their five-day-old son to a childless couple for ₹1.10 lakh. Six people, including the biological parents and intermediaries, were arrested.
  • Hyderabad, September 2024: A ten-member gang was apprehended for attempting to sell a 15-day-old baby boy by advertising on WhatsApp. The infant was rescued and placed under the care of the Child Welfare Center.

While these cases highlight the ongoing issue of infant trafficking in India, there is no current information about a person out on bail being re-arrested for such activities as of today’s date.
