NITI Aayog is reportedly preparing the Chem‑Opex Scheme, a nation-wide operational expenditure support plan designed to enhance industrial competitiveness. While official details are still emerging, the initiative is expected to focus on reducing costs for chemical and process industries, streamlining operations, and possibly offering targeted subsidies or cost-sharing mechanisms to foster domestic manufacturing growth.

NITI Aayog has redoubled its efforts to accelerate green approvals and financing structures for energy transition projects. Last month, the think tank finalized strategies for a Green Energy Investment Plan, aimed at driving India toward net-zero by 2070 through technology upgrades and funding gap assessments . In parallel, it’s exploring the creation of a National Green Financing Institution or “green bank” to fast-track green finance flows and support sustainability projects like small modular reactors and renewable infrastructure .

Additionally, NITI Aayog highlighted the strong growth potential of India’s green hydrogen market—projected to reach €7.3 billion by 2030, with the electrolyzer segment valued at €4.6 billion—and reaffirmed solar-powered electrolysis as the main growth driver.

These moves reflect NITI Aayog’s dual strategy: implementing sector-focused operational support while unlocking financial mechanisms for a broad-based green energy transition.
