The Second National Lok Adalat of 2025 was successfully organized across Madhya Pradesh on May 10, 2025, under the guidance of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA). The event aimed to provide accessible, timely, and meaningful justice to the public, emphasizing fairness, simplicity, and resolution through mutual understanding.
Leadership and Inauguration: The event was inaugurated virtually by the Chief Justice from the High Court of Madhya Pradesh Bench at Indore. Notable figures such as Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, Chief Justice & Patron-in-Chief of the Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority, and Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Executive Chairman of the Authority, were present. Other dignitaries included Justice Vivek Agarwal and Justice Anand Pathak, who highlighted the importance of Lok Adalats in providing accessible justice, especially to the underprivileged and marginalized sections of society.
Scope and Participation: The Lok Adalat was conducted across various districts in Madhya Pradesh, including Indore, Gwalior, and Jabalpur. It involved judicial officers, legal services institutions, advocates, and court staff, all working collaboratively to facilitate amicable resolutions.
Objectives and Impact: The primary goal was to reduce case pendency and provide a low-cost, cooperative, and time-efficient method of dispute resolution. By offering an alternative to traditional litigation, Lok Adalats aim to restore peace and closure to litigants. The event underscored the role of mediators and advocates in guiding clients towards fair settlements, reinforcing the relevance of justice in daily life.
