The Central Government has approved ₹193 crore under the State Capital Investments Scheme for infrastructure development in the Narasapura industrial area of Kolar district, Karnataka. The funds will specifically be used to build working women’s hostels and enhanced water facilities to support employees at the Tata Electronics (formerly Wistron) iPhone manufacturing plant. The project aims to improve living and working conditions for female workers and is slated for completion within 18 months.
