A special court has rejected the plea of an accused in a ₹1,478 crore money laundering case, who sought permission to travel abroad with his family. The court observed that allowing such travel could hamper the ongoing investigation and posed a risk of the accused absconding. The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is probing the case, strongly opposed the request, citing the gravity of the financial offences involved and the need to ensure the accused remains available for questioning.
