Man , drive booked for raping women after promising job .

Recent incidents in Thane district, Maharashtra, have raised significant concerns about individuals exploiting promises of employment or personal relationships to commit serious offenses against women.

In one incident, a 19-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man and his driver after being lured with the promise of a job. The primary accused, Surendra Patil, a resident of Thakurli near Dombivli, is known for his presence on Instagram, where he shares reels and short videos. The case has been registered by the local police, and investigations are ongoing.

In another case, a 36-year-old woman from Thane district reported being raped by a man who falsely promised marriage and allegedly extorted ₹3.42 lakh from her. The accused, a 37-year-old resident of Mulund, Mumbai, has been booked by the police.

Additionally, a 34-year-old woman from Majiwada area in Thane was allegedly raped multiple times by a man who promised to help her secure roles in the film industry. An accomplice, along with her husband and daughter, are also accused of threatening and blackmailing the victim. The accused woman introduced the victim to the man, claiming he was influential in the film industry. The man allegedly took the victim to his house in Singapore, offered her drinks, and then raped her. He is also accused of sexually abusing her on multiple occasions in hotels in Mumbai and other locations, filming these acts, and using the footage to blackmail her. The victim also reported caste-based abuse. The police have registered an FIR against the four accused under relevant legal provisions for rape, criminal intimidation, and under the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. Investigations are ongoing, and no arrests have been made yet.

These incidents underscore the importance of vigilance and caution when engaging with individuals offering employment or personal commitments. Authorities are actively investigating these cases to ensure justice for the victims.​
