In a tragic development, Pallavi, the 64-year-old wife of retired Karnataka DGP Om Prakash, has been arrested for allegedly murdering him at their Bengaluru residence on April 20, 2025. Their son, Karthikesh, filed a police complaint stating that Pallavi had been threatening to kill Om Prakash for the past week. Due to these threats, Om Prakash had temporarily moved to his sister’s house. However, two days before the incident, their daughter Kriti reportedly persuaded him to return home, which led to the fatal confrontation .
According to police sources, during a heated argument, Pallavi allegedly threw chili powder in Om Prakash’s face and then stabbed him multiple times with a kitchen knife, resulting in his death . Pallavi has reportedly confessed to the crime, citing domestic violence as the motive. She also claimed that she believed her husband intended to harm her and their daughter .
The case has been transferred to the Central Crime Branch (CCB) for further investigation. Kriti has been shifted to NIMHANS for psychological evaluation, as she is reportedly suffering from depression .
