Calcutta high court allows 2 rallies in howrah , prohibit carrying weapons & lathis .

​The Calcutta High Court has granted permission for two organizations, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and the Anjani Putra Sena, to conduct Ram Navami processions in Howrah, West Bengal, under specific conditions to ensure public safety and order.

The conditions set by the court include:​

  • Participant Limit: Each procession is restricted to a maximum of 200 attendees.
  • Prohibition of Weapons: Participants are strictly prohibited from carrying weapons or lathis during the processions
  • Vehicle Restriction: Only one vehicle carrying the idol of Lord Ram is permitted per procession.
  • Ban on Provocative Elements: The use of provocative slogans and disc jockeys (DJs) is strictly forbidden during the events.​

These measures are implemented to ensure that the processions proceed peacefully and without incident.​
