The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) informed the Bombay High Court on June 20 that it has deployed nine zone‑wise teams, each led by an assistant commissioner, to inspect and take action against illegal buildings—starting with green and no‑development zones. This move follows an earlier June 12 HC directive for immediate site inspections and a judicial probe concerning 17 unauthorised structures erected by a land mafia on private land at Shil village, usurped from senior citizen Subhadra Takle .
