As of May 1, 2025, Malaika Arora faces the possibility of a non-bailable warrant due to her repeated absences from court proceedings related to the 2012 assault case involving Saif Ali Khan. The Mumbai magistrate’s court has issued a final warning, mandating her appearance at the next hearing scheduled for July 9. Failure to attend will result in the issuance of a non-bailable warrant against her .
The case pertains to an incident on February 21, 2012, at a Colaba five-star hotel, where Saif Ali Khan, along with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora, and others, were dining. An altercation ensued when South African businessman Iqbal Sharma objected to the group’s noise levels. Sharma alleged that Khan assaulted him, resulting in a fractured nose, and that Khan’s associates attacked his father-in-law, Ramanbhai Patel .
Malaika Arora, present during the incident, has been summoned as a key witness but has consistently failed to appear in court. Her sister, Amrita Arora, testified in March, stating that Sharma initiated the confrontation by reprimanding their group for being loud .India Today+3
The court has emphasized that Malaika Arora’s continued absence appears intentional and has granted her one final opportunity to comply. The next hearing is set for July 9, 2025.
