An iPhone 14 belonging to a Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) from a south Mumbai court was stolen on Thursday evening, April 17, 2025, while he was entering Wankhede Stadium to watch an IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad. The incident occurred at Gate No. 4, where the magistrate was accompanied by his wife, son, and other relatives. Amid the crowd, someone stole his iPhone 14 from his pants pocket.
After realizing his phone was missing, the magistrate promptly filed an online complaint. Subsequently, a theft case was registered at the Marine Drive police station, and an investigation is currently underway.
This incident highlights the challenges of ensuring personal security in crowded public events, even for high-ranking officials.
