Jharkhand says cut power on ram nawami routes draws Supreme court ire .

In preparation for the Ram Navami celebrations in Jharkhand, several measures have been implemented to ensure public safety:

Power Supply Interruptions:

  • In Ranchi, the district administration has announced a planned power outage starting from 2 PM on the day of the Ram Navami procession. This measure aims to prevent any untoward incidents during the event. Power supply will be suspended in areas through which the procession passes and will be restored after its conclusion. Residents are advised to be prepared for potential electricity disruptions during this period.

Restrictions on Weapons:

  • In Dhanbad, the district administration has prohibited the display of sharp weapons during the Ram Navami procession. This decision is intended to minimize the risk of injuries and maintain public order. Additionally, the registration of new Akharas (traditional martial arts groups) has been suspended, and the use of loudspeakers and DJs is restricted between 10 PM and 6 AM during the festival period.

Security Measures:

  • In Hazaribag, security has been significantly increased for the Ram Navami celebrations. Over 3,000 police personnel have been deployed, and CCTV cameras installed in sensitive areas to monitor the situation closely. Authorities have emphasized that strict action will be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt peace during the festivities.

Incidents from Previous Celebrations:

  • It’s noteworthy that during previous Ram Navami celebrations in Hazaribag, around 700 individuals sustained minor injuries while performing with traditional weapons such as swords and sticks. Most of these injuries were treated at medical camps set up for the event.

Residents are encouraged to stay informed about these measures and cooperate with local authorities to ensure a safe and harmonious celebration of Ram Navami.
