On May 11, 2015, an argument escalated when Anis tried to intervene in a confrontation between the Mandal brothers and Javed. Uday attacked Anis with a hammer, while Vikas used a paver block, leading to his death.

The court relied on eyewitness testimonies to convict the brothers. The ruling reinforces the consequences of violent acts stemming from social and religious prejudices in relationships.
