
In Uttar Pradesh, a 24-year-old MBA student was kidnapped and allegedly gang-raped by a group of youngsters in Noida. The incident occurred on Monday around 5 pm in Sector 121, Noida, when the victim was returning home with a friend after shopping at the Great India Palace mall in Sector 39. Five suspects—Husain, Srikant, Sanjay, Sudhir, and Gautam—were arrested on Tuesday morning, while efforts continue to apprehend the remaining individuals involved.
In a separate incident, a 22-year-old woman returning from work was gang-raped in Kanpur. The victim was traveling with a friend when four assailants stopped them, robbed them, and then raped the woman. Three of the accused—Devidin, Abhishek, and Sandeep—have been arrested, and a search is underway for the fourth suspect.
These incidents highlight ongoing concerns about women’s safety in Uttar Pradesh.
